Clearer content management and a security fix land in Distributor 2.0.6

Distributor 2.0.6 makes it easier to track pulled and linked content across your posts, plus a security update and PHP 8.2 fix.

The latest release of Distributor focuses on making distributed content easier to manage at a glance. Version 2.0.6 improves how pulled content appears in your admin area, so you can quickly see which posts have been pushed, pulled, linked, or unlinked — and take action on them more confidently.

Clearer content management

If you regularly distribute content between sites, keeping track of what came from where has always taken a bit of detective work. This update improves both the posts list view and the single post view to surface that information more clearly.

  • Richer posts table — The Distributor column now shows Pushed, Pulled, Linked, and Unlinked status details when you hover over each item.
  • Clearer linking controls — Linking and unlinking content is now more obvious, making it easier to understand the relationship between your posts.
  • Links open safely — Links to original linked content now open in a new tab, so you don’t lose your place.

Security and other fixes

This release also bundles a couple of important security updates to bring bundled dependencies up to date, along with a compatibility fix for newer PHP versions.

  • Dependency updates — The axios and webpack libraries were updated to patch known security vulnerabilities.
  • PHP 8.2 compatibility — A dynamic property warning that appeared in debug logs on PHP 8.2 and later has been resolved.

For developers

The PHP 8.2+ fix addresses the creation of a dynamic property warning triggered when using external connections — worth confirming if you run sites on newer PHP versions. On the tooling side, @wordpress/env was bumped from 10.1.0 to 10.5.0, and the README.md received a refresh with updated repo badges, the plugin banner image, and some minor text tidy-ups.
